Under $200 and a Choice of Flush Speed – Surely Not?
Most people have at least two places in the home that need a toilet, and it’s rare they will buy a different model for each. However, I’ve noticed a change in my customers needs when they’re looking for a toilet, a change in terms of what’s top of the list in requirements (apart from the same model).
Comfort and price seems to be what men look for, and for women it’s all about how efficient the toilet is and if it will be easy to clean. But, both men and women have recently been asking how economical a particular model is, ahead of some of the more traditional questions.
I understand why this change has taken place. The EPA has become very conscious about the amount of water we use, and toilets have been scrutinized heavily over this. These days, new toilets won’t use more than 1.6 gallons of water per flush. This saves a lot of money on your water bills and customers have started to realize this.
The American Standard Siphonic Dual Flush
A few years ago, people thought the more water a toilet uses, the more efficient it is, but that isn’t the case and the message is starting to hit home. This is why I’ve decided to add the American Standard 2889.216.020 H2Option Siphonic Dual Flush to my toilet review site.
What’s Unique about It?
Well, the fact that this toilet uses patent-pending siphon action technology is probably what makes it stand out from the crowd. But, this model will also rid your bowl of the toughest waste, along with large amounts of paper AND uses less water than many other models on the market.
The other feature that’s pretty unique about this model is the dual flush action. You can choose to use a 1 gallon “light-flush” which is perfect if there are no bodily solids to get rid of, or if you think you’re going to need it, you can opt for the “heavy flush” which uses 1.6 gallons of water.
Just to give you an idea of how powerful the flush is on this toilet; you can expect to be able to wash away about 400 grams of waste on the light flush and a pretty hefty 1000 grams on the heavy flush.
Clean and Powerful
It’s impossible to say that any toilet is self-cleaning, but American Standard has come pretty close. They have used the EverClean surface, which by the way will last as long as your toilet does.
This surface is antimicrobial which means it will stop odors and stains from affecting your toilet. In turn mold, mildew and bacteria will find it much harder to grow.
Of course this is great news of all you ladies out there because cleaning your toilet will become a weekly household chore rather than daily (Not to say that men don’t clean the toilet but I know what I’m like with this one).
As the name suggests, this is a two piece toilet which makes for easier installation and transportation. You should know that this model doesn’t come with the seat included. This means you will have to spend a little extra, but it also means you can choose one that suits your bathroom décor.
Speaking of décor, you can also buy this toilet in 3 different colors: White, linen or bone.
Now, the information men will be most interested in. Check out the deals that Amazon currently have, I didn’t head this review “under $200” for nothing!
