| Sanitation Ventures launches website! |
| |
Dear colleague,
Sanitation Ventures is now online, at www.sanitationventures.com. Visit to find out the full story about our work to generate affordable, effective solutions to the problem of pit latrine filling, which we estimate affects around 1.7 billion people.
As the site shows, we’ve come a long way since the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation awarded the grant for our project to the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine in July 2009. Highlights include:
- A full overview of the Sanitation Ventures story so far
- Ongoing tracking of our research into consumer needs and decomposition processes in latrines
- Step-by-step coverage of our innovation process, as we harness the newest and best in technology and design to develop lasting sanitation solutions
- Developments in our lead innovation, the Tiger Toilet, a biofilter system which uses tiger worms to process waste
- How we want to engage with potential business partners to develop successful ventures that will deliver our innovations to market.
We’d like it to be a two-way conversation – your ideas and experience are important to us, so please contact us through the site, or visit our Facebook page where you can join the debate with us and others. Follow us on Twitter too, to keep up with the latest developments and add your own comments.
We hope you’ll enjoy the site and get in touch with your suggestions. Please also spread the word with anyone you know who might be interested or able to help. We’re passionate about helping improve people’s health and quality of life though good sanitation, so we’d love to hear your ideas about this vital work.
Thank you for your support.
