If you’ve managed to browse through my website; you will notice the main point of it is to bring you some good, honest reviews about the various models you have available to you. However, I felt this wasn’t really enough so I’ve decided to add this information page (among others) to help you with your decision.
In the following few words, you will find some valid points to think about when it comes to how this (in my opinion) most important bathroom fixture will look once it’s installed. Sure, functionality is massively important, but there is no point in spending your hard earned cash on a toilet, having it installed only to stand back and think “I don’t like it”, or “it doesn’t fit with my décor”.
Below are some key things to think about.
Most manufacturers will produce their toilets in neutral colors because this will generally fit in with most decors. However, there are brands that have thought “outside of the box”. In fact, if you take a look at some of the Kohler models you will notice they have made some of their toilets in black and thunder grey. They’re not the only manufacturer to think about this, so if you have an unusual color scheme in your bathroom you shouldn’t have too much trouble finding something that will fit.
Aside from comfort, your toilet seat can also add a touch of class to the look of your bathroom. You will find lots of models I’ve reviewed that are supplied without the seat included, and this isn’t just so companies can save money. They recognize that you won’t necessarily want to sit on what they choose for you so they’ve left that part up to you.
For instance, if you have say, a rustic look to your bathroom you might want to choose a neutral color but liven it up with a wooden colored seat. Gone are the days when your toilet was simply a functional fixture that sat in the bathroom without even attempting to hide what it was there for! You can now choose from an array of different designs that will help your toilet blend into the rest of your bathroom.
If you would like to find out more on this, I have picked a few good toilet seats to give you some idea of design and how they can enhance your “toilet” experience.
Two Piece or One Piece
Again, this is totally down to personal preference. One piece toilets tend to be more expensive than two piece, but the overall design is somewhat more contemporary, so if you sense of style is more modern, you might want to consider this design.
Two piece toilets on the other hand can look very nice in a more rustic type bathroom. I have added plenty of pictures along with my reviews to help you make a decision but at the end of the day, like I said, it’s personal preference.
Of course, knowing your chosen toilet will fit into the space you have is important, but this doesn’t have to mean you compromise on style. There are a myriad of choices for both small and large bathrooms (no-one has been forgotten)!
What you might want to think about however, is if you go for a round or elongated bowl design. For more information on this, take a look at my page on round vs elongated bowls.
The choice is up to you, but hopefully the information above has at least given you some ideas on what you would like.
