The Most Satisfying Toilet
First of all, you should know that the title to this review emerged after I had a somewhat embarrassing talk with one of the plumbers where I work. Primarily we sell new bathrooms as a whole installation but we also undertake the installation of a single new fixture, so our team of plumbers is incredibly important to us. In fact, we in the sales department often forget what they have to go through each day (which can be less than glamorous).
The TOTO CST744SL-01 Drake ADA To The Recue…
Just recently, I sold a TOTO CST744SL-01 Drake 2-Piece ADA Toilet to a customer and he asked me to arrange for installation, which I duly did. I just happened to be around when the plumber returned from the installation and he looked somewhat distressed. As it was my customer he had been to visit, I was curious to know how things had gone.
At first, all I got was a blank look and as the poor man came “back into the room”, he said the installation went fine but to please never send him back there again. The obvious question was why and I wish I hadn’t asked. It turns out that this particular customer was not backwards in coming forwards about his toilet habits, and throughout the installation he was given graphic details about the daily “movements” this person undertook and how his previous toilet had underperformed (unlike the customer it would seem)!
To cut a long story short, I offered to take my co-worker for a beer after work to calm his nerves and we had a little talk about this customer’s new TOTO toilet.
This is what you can expect from this toilet:
OK, this is probably not something many of you will be too concerned with, but having a toilet that somehow blends into the background of your bathroom is really what you need. This model will do just that! It comes in 6 delicate colors and considering it’s a 2 piece, the manufacturer has done very well with the overall contemporary look.
This toilet only uses 1.6 gallons of water per flush, yet it will never clog or throw back waste you’ve flushed away. Apparently, this was an issue for said customer with his previous model (the less said the better).
The flush itself is quick and efficient, which I was told is due to the 3 inch flush valve. In fact, the valve on this model is 125% larger than other conventional models. This means that even if you have a large amount of waste along with a good deal of toilet paper to flush away, this toilet will handle it with ease.
Now this is an issue for a lot of people. Everyone hates to clean a toilet (myself included), but this one will make the job a whole lot easier. It’s pretty easy to keep any toilet clean above the water line but when you get beneath it, this is where all the problems start. TOTO has included a glazed trapway which means waste cannot stick to it easily. Instead, everything is flushed away without a trace.
This makes for a healthier environment within the toilet, and it also means you won’t be buying a new toilet brush what seems like every month.
You should know (and this is something I really want to make sure you read) that this toilet does not come with a seat, so you will have to purchase one separately. Other than that, there aren’t really any other negatives I can honestly comment on.
You can take a quick look at Amazon to see what they have to offer on this model.
As for my plumber friend, by the time he had finished a beer or two, he was happy to cheer the fact our customer would indeed feel way more satisfied after using the toilet…
